I recently had the opportunity to embark on a winter photography adventure along Iceland's famous south coast. Thanks to Zero Car, I was able to take on this trip in a brand new PHEV Land Rover Defender 110. This trip was an incredible opportunity to capture the beauty of Iceland's landscape and put the Defender’s capabilities to the test.
The Land Rover Defender 110 was the perfect choice for exploring Iceland's rugged terrain. Its obvious off-road capabilities, coupled with its eco-friendly PHEV technology, made it an ideal choice for navigating through Iceland's various landscapes; and yes charging a PHEV is very cheap and easy in Iceland despite the remote locations we visited.
Our journey began with a drive through the popular south coast spots, which included famous landmarks such as the Black Sand Beach, Skógafoss, and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. The car handled beautifully on Iceland's winding roads and steep hills and tough F roads that were mostly covered in ice when we ventured off the beaten track to capture more remote locations.
Unfortunately, our trip to Stokknes had to be cut short due to a heavy storm with 25 m/s winds! However, we were still able to explore and photograph some of Iceland's most stunning landscapes, walk on glaciers and swim in frozen lakes. Our experience was unforgettable, and we were able to capture a unique, and perhaps some of the first sets of images featuring the new Land Rover Defender in a winter Iceland setting.
Overall, the trip was a fantastic opportunity to explore Iceland's stunning natural beauty and put the PHEV Land Rover Defender 110 to the test. I am incredibly grateful to Zero Car for providing me with this incredible opportunity to explore Iceland in style and comfort and thanks to the Icelandic weather gods for allowing me to fly the DJI A2S and capture some unique angles.
