Brixton Motorcycles - Moody Madeira Adventure

As 2021 came to a close, the pandemic resulted in us cancelling our trip to Africa last minute. We were craving adventure so we jumped online and managed to book some flights to the Portuguese Island of Madeira. As soon as we landed I made my way to a local motorcycle rental in Funchal, with my leather jacket and gloves stuffed in my hand luggage, along with a few lenses and hired a Brixton Cromwell.

I explored the island riding on smooth twisting roads, leading to stunning mountain top inversions, cascading waterfalls and breathtaking coastlines.

Supercar Photography on the Beach

During the last few moments of summer, I went down to the XO Customs HQ in Telford to meet up with Supercars of Birmingham to photograph a roadtrip around northern Wales. Over 30 supercars arrived in the small trading estate ranging from the newest McLarens to the oldest Porsche 911s. As people chatted and got pictures under the all new HEX lighting fitted at XO Customs HQ, I began taking photos trying to supress my excitement as more and more stunning cars arrived.

The convoy began taking shape as millions of pounds worth of cars started streaming out of the trading estate and started heading for the valleys. After a few reports of cars being pulled over by the police, the convoy started to splay. Several miles later we regrouped at Ponderosa Cafe in Snowdonia, just off the Horseshoe Pass, for a bite to eat and to see who we had lost on the way. As I was driving a Renault van with a Honda CRF motorbike in the back, I was struggling to keep up with the team and the sun was starting to set. With only a few images on my SD card, I was itching to get down to the beach and get shooting some cars so I urged to group to unleash their V12s and head down to Porthmadog where we could have some fun on the beach.

We arrived at Black Rock Sands, the light was any photographer’s dream as it started to set into golden hour and we were down to just four cars. This is how our evening looked from there on…

Behind the scenes…

To capture the image of the Ferarri 458 seen below I decided to bring along a perspex screen to hide behind to shoot whilst the driver covered me, and Ryan (taking one for the team holding the sheet) in sand. Jake Osborne another automotive photographer I work with, is seen below blowing sand out of his lens.

Milltek Sport - Swimming around Silverstone

During a cold and wet day in October I went down to Silverstone Circuit with Milltek Sport Exhaust and racing driver Tom Onslow-Colen to photograph the launch of a new exhaust exhaust system and body design, courtesy of Urban Automotive, for the new Audi RSQ8 as well as the new BMW M135i and Mercedes CLA 45AS all fitted with Milltek Sport products.

The funny looks from around the paddock of people wondering why we were bringing an SUV to a racetrack soon vanished when we fired up the 4.4L V8 and started taxiing down the pitlane. Tom Onslow-Cole then started throwing the SUV around the track with speeds even the Porsche GT3s couldn’t keep up with in the wet.

After Tom’s paddle in the RSQ8, he swapped the beast out for the smaller, more nimble CLA 45S and M135i, sending them through corners with reverse entries on the redline, igniting the spectator’s eyes with excitement.

The aim of this shoot was to capture the brand testing the products and inspiring people to get to the track and use the brand to unleash the potential of their car…
